We are without doubt very fortunate persons. Because we have the opportunity to make good food. In addition, we can enjoy the pleasant fragrances of sweetness every day. Because we can do all this within our family, in the place where we were born and raised, between the mountains of our beloved Versilia. Yes, quite fotunate.
We have our grandfather Luigi to thank for this. Because he and his brother Giuseppe took over a small bread bakery right after the war at Pontestazzemese, at the small town of Fornetto, where originally metals were fused for the Tuscan Grand Dukes. Fully embracing the Versilian and Tuscan traditions. Completely and proudly respecting the excellent artisan practices: The selection of primary materials, the slow preparation, the quantity that a small family run bakery can produce day by day, the direct and friendly interaction with the clientele.
A work project, a philosophy, that starting from the 1990s extends to the production of cakes and cookies. Initially it was to supplement the bread, now they are the main production. Even though we continue to make quality bread, we dedicate ourselves with growing passion to the “Dolci del Martinetto”. They are our pride and joy. Thanks to which we confront ourselves with our traditions, we re-interpret the authenticity and, above all, we bring flavours, which they thought were lost, to the homes of our friends and customers. Memories of family-reunions and of their childhood. The uniqueness of a handmade cookie. The homemade flavours – and therefore unforgettable – the sweetness of the Alta Versilia.
